Artist statement:
How can I, as a future educator, support one of my students who is transgender and seeks help or guidance through a difficult situation? So I thought, "I'll put myself into the shoes of that young transgender student, what would I do if I was lost and looking for answers? ... Well it’s the age of the Internet, what if I just did a simple Google search, what would I find?" I deleted the history, cookies, cache, etc. and used an incognito search on a public computer to get the most unbiased search results possible, but after only typing in a few words and never even hitting Search I think the answer is clear. - Genesis Hernandez, preservice undergraduate Images and statement used by permission of the artist. Pulp-O-Mizer image depicts how allies can show trans people their support by wearing an #IllGoWithYou button that indicates the ally will accompany the trans person to the bathroom for safety.
